Hello everyone!

I'm a hiring manager at Jinny and Toby, a top-notch learning community with 16+ years of experience (Skype → now Zoom). We're expanding our team this summer and are looking for charismatic, high-energy teachers who are passionate about helping students learn and grow.

This is a fully remote position — teach from the comfort of your home. Our students are located throughout Korea and overseas, making for a diverse and engaging teaching experience.

This is not a tutoring position. Class sizes range from 4–8 students per block. Students are generally grouped by level and age, though depending on individual skill levels there may be a mix of ages within a group.

Positions Available

• 1 Math Teacher (ASAP)
• 1 Writing Teacher (starting August 2026)
• 1 Science Teacher (starting August 2026)
• 1 Reading Teacher (starting August 2026)

Quick Overview

• ? Student age: 5–13

Location

• Remote

Schedule

• Part-time only
• Classes run between 4:30 PM and 10:30 PM KST
• Teachers choose their available work days
• Once a week per group — 12 sessions total (12-week course)
• Each class is 20 minutes, with a 10-minute break between classes

(=You teach one day per week, running 10–12 classes on that day — each class 20 minutes with a 10-minute break between classes)

• Each course runs in 12-week terms (12 sessions). After each term there is a one-week break, followed by another 12-week term — this cycle continues throughout the one-year contract
• Schedules may be adjusted within reason based on teacher availability and student enrollment
• Classes are offered across the full window, but instructors are not scheduled for every time slot — we build schedules around your availability whenever possible

Compensation

• Based on a 12-week term for one teaching day per week(12 teaching days total)
• You teach one day per week, and on that day you run 10–12 classes — each 20 minutes long — between 4:30 PM and 10:30 PM KST.
• 3.0 million KRW before taxes for classes with 90+ total students
• 35,000 KRW per student for classes with fewer than 90 students
• 400,000 KRW bonus for classes exceeding 100 students

Example: A teacher whose class qualifies for the full 3.0M KRW plus the 400,000 KRW enrollment bonus would earn 3.4 million KRW before taxes for the 12-week term.

Vacation

• Instructors choose their own vacation periods

Contract Period

• One year
• Classes run in 12-week terms (12 sessions). After each term, there is a one-week break, followed by another 12-week term. This cycle continues throughout the one-year contract.

Visa

• F-series or E2 visa holders (native English speakers)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher
• Native English speaker
• Experience using Zoom or similar video conferencing platforms
• Experience with Prezi preferred (ability to create/maintain slides or visual aids — Prezi, PowerPoint, etc. — is a big plus)
• Energetic teaching style and experience with kids ages 5–13
• Can explain content in simple, kid-friendly English and keep students engaged, curious, and talking

Tech Requirements

• Reliable high-speed internet
• Quiet workspace suitable for online classes
• Basic tech proficiency (Zoom, screen sharing, online whiteboard, etc.)

About Us

Jinny and Toby is a team of approximately 20 instructors living both inside and outside Korea. Our program offers instruction in English, French, Spanish, German, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, and Italian. Many of our students stay with us for years, building strong relationships among students, parents, and instructors. Though we operate remotely, we place great value on a supportive, connected learning community, and we maintain a hands-off management style.
